High Impact Packaging for Microsoft Streets & Trips Uses SmartCycle PET

Transparent Container is an active member of the Sustainable Packaging Coalition, an industry group that, among many positive initiatives, encourages sustainable resources through the use of renewable and recycled source materials. Our packaging for Microsoft Streets & Trips illustrates how it’s possible to honor that commitment with packaging that delivers high shelf impact.

The Microsoft Streets & Trips product includes both software and hardware — customizable trip planning and a sleek and stylish Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver. To give the device maximum visibility, we conceived and designed a unique package that combines two of our technologies, thermoforming and folding cartons, into a package that presents the product to the consumer very effectively.

In keeping with our commitment to sustainability, the Streets & Trips package is constructed of SmartCycle™ PET, a great looking material that consists of at least 50% post-consumer waste. Packaging PET that contains recycled production waste is already in common use; the recycling of more post-consumer waste is the next step toward greater sustainability in plastic containers, and we’re behind it all the way.
